Over the last ten years, we’ve been turning up the heat on the GOP by picking up a dozen new Democratic legislative chamber majorities. Now, it’s time to defend those gains and build strong state legislative campaigns in every corner of battleground states. Regardless of who wins the race for the White House, the Republican playbook is to continue moving their dangerous, extreme agenda through our state legislatures.
This summer, we’re bringing awareness to the importance of the groundwork happening to stop Trump and his allies from taking us backward and building the infrastructure for Democrats to push past Republican efforts and boost our chances for victory in November.
We’re supporting legislative candidates who are deeply connected to their communities and who are already out knocking on doors and building deep relationships with voters. By organizing in their neighborhoods – including in districts where statewide and federal races don’t traditionally engage – state legislative campaigns are powerful messengers to drive excitement and turnout for the Democratic Party.
